Photo Book

Holiday photo book!!!

I created this photo book as a Christmas gift. I also created a smaller one for my grandmother. It was relatively easy. Shutterfly walks you through it. It was a lot of fun. Can't wait until my next project.

These pictures where taken by the fabulous Coco Photography. Here is her website.

Shutterfly photo books offer a variety of layouts and cover options to choose from.

I am ready for Fall are you???

I just love fall. It is by far my most favorite time of the year. I normally decorate Labor Day weekend. Although I think this is the weekend that I fell and rolled my ankle. So much for my decorating. Les did get all of the decorations out of the attic for me. He is the best husband ever.

I love my mantle. I think it is so pretty. I love turning the light above it on at night. Then I will just sit and look at it.
I can't wait until the weather turns really cold and we get to use the fireplace.

I love to bundle up and get cozy on the couch when it is turned on.

I picked up the little guy on the floor this year at Trade Days. Every year the Choctaw Casino in Durant have a sale in their Events Center. We have gone with my parents every year. It is great because we have watched it grow over the years. This year some sweet friends of mine had a booth. It was fun getting to see them and all their glory.

Misty sold her fantastic cupcakes and cake pops. She ran out all three days and had to cook until all hours of the night. How fantastic for her.
Mandy sold her super cute little girl dresses, hair bows, burp clothes and onesies.  See her blog here
Sorry for the glare from the window. We always have this problem when trying to take pictures in this spot.

The is normally the family picture table. Not durning the holidays. So many decorating ideas here.

I am beginning to think I have a pumpkin fetish.  I tend to go to wonder toward them while at garage sales or thrift shops.

On a side note. We got the pool winterized. Deflated all of the pool floats. We tried to get the back patio cleaned and ready for winter.

 Enjoy, Pam

She is back....then gone again :(

My best friend came home from California a couple of weeks ago. Les and I had the privilege of going to the airport to pick her up. I was so excited.
Her husband is in the Navy and is away on ship for a few weeks. So she decided to come home for a week and a half. Her plane was delayed about 30 minutes, and I decided to get a little reading done. I opened my Kindle and found this.....

No battery. Dead. Would not do a thing. So Les and I sat and watch people reunite with loved ones and load their cars with luggage. Wondering where each of them had been. What they had done.
Finally it was time for Kristi's plane to land. We went to the escalator and waited, and waited, and waited. Then finally......Here she came.

Cute purse by the way.
So happy to see her. I haven't seen her in person since she left in March. Her and James came to the house early one morning to tell us by. Time does fly. It seems like last week when they left.

On a side note I normally only wear my glasses at night while watching TV, but I had a nasty case of pink eye. So I was sporting the spectacles on this day.

On the way home we got to catch up. We filled each other in on the happenings in our lives. The good, the bad, and the drama.
We drove to Kristi's parents house and I think this picture tells it all.
I know Ms. Anita was ready to see her baby girl. I know she cried a little (she always does). Love her for this.

Camille was so ready for Aunt Kristi to be home. She sent her several text wanting the know were we where at in our travels. She is such a sweet girl and really does love her Aunt.

Needless to say she is gone again. We had a great time. She got to eat at all of her favorite places in town. Spend time with her family. Lunch with friends. The day with Carter Joe. Went to the county fair with a group of us. Best of all we got Pedicures together. One of our favorite things to do. It is so nice to spend time with my dear friend.
Love you Kristi. Can't wait for James to retire so you both can come home for good.
Come home safe James.

Speed Racer

Meet my speed racer!!
He got this gator from his T and Nana for his birthday last year. Carter calls it his gator-aider. We had it on a low setting when we first got it. Last week we turned it up to a higher speed!!!

Wow does it go, and he loves it.  Even with Les and I walking fast we had a hard time keeping up with him. We could do a quick sprint and still not keep up. By the way there is not medium speed. Just high and low.
Needless to say we will be getting our exercise while he is riding his Gator-aider.
God help us.

We've got spirt how about you!!

The county we live in has several schools that are celebrating Homecoming festivities tonight. The school that Les and I went to is one of them. We hope that one day Carter Joe will attend it as well. We don't live in district so we will have to apply as a transfer student. We have a couple of years before we have to worry about that.

Some of these pictures are from a football game we went to a couple of years ago. I just wanted to show you how much my little man has changed. My how two years have flown.

Our new shirt for the 2009 season.
We still wear it. Just a little smaller now, and just around the house.
Oh my goodness! Look at all the curls. It took him forever to get hair. Then people had started saying, "what a cute little girl." So off with the curls. You know that this momma kept those sweet curls.

Picture time with daddy!!!

He did so well at the game. The football players, band, and spectators kept his attention pretty much the whole game.
UNTIL....

We got sleepy!! We had to lay down and rest until the game was over.

Now let us fast forward two years. My how we have changed. Our new 2011 shirt for the year. Thanks Paris Baby you did a great job as always on this years shirt. We wear it every Friday morning to school. Ready for the football game that night.
Look no curls! Just a big boy haircut. How sad mommies little boy is grow up so fast.

The football game still keeps our attention.

Maybe one day when he is older another little boy will be watching Carter Joe play football.  Hopefully it will keep his attention as well.

Shh It's A Secret!!

We have secret pals at work. Every January we draw new secret pals for the year. The lady at work that is over it gets all of our information and gets everything ready to draw the names. She comes around to each area and has us draw the new names for the year. FYI, I am bad! I will draw a name until I get someone I think I can surprise. If there are rules I do not obey them. Like I said I am bad.

Lets just say I have the best secret pal that has my name this year. She not only thinks about me, but my family too. She gave me a great gift card for the July 4th holiday to a local meat market. Can you say yummy.

Now rolls around the Labor Day holiday. I get a sweet little green package at our time clock.
Here is the note that was with it.
Did I mention that I love crosses. Guess what she got me one! I have already hung it in the house.

This cute little number has been hung in the kitchen. Funny thing I hung it by where I normally plug up my blender. You know where I occasionally make my frozen beverages. I did not realize I did this until we had guest over for the weekend. Needless to say frozen beverages where blended.

Next in my green bag of goodies are these handsome little balding Italian men. They are actually salt and pepper shakers.

Funny thing about these little balding Italian men is that they where made in China. Little Italian men made in China. Hahaha! Isn't everything made in China these days.

To finalize this post I just wanted to say thanks to my secret pal for the Labor Day goodies. I have really enjoyed them and can't wait to find out who you are in December. Hope everyone has a fantastic holiday weekend.

For the Love of Scrapbook Paper

My friend Robin sold me this buffet. That is her in the middle. Her husband Terry built it, and it is HEAVY. Solid wood need I say more.... Les and I almost did not get it in the house. ;)

This is the before.
I hate to admit this but I have had it almost a year. It was against a wall in the living room behind a couch. I decided to moved it to the entry way. Thank goodness it fit perfectly.
I started last week putting all the paper on.
Decoupaged some scrapbook paper to the top.   Pretty good evenness for eyeballing it. I probably should have measured. Oh well. I think it turned out good.
I added more scrapbook paper to the front doors and drawers. This week I saw in the Hobby Lobby  sale paper that drawer pulls where 1/2 off. I love Hobby Lobby. Something you need just wait it will be on sale soon.

Finished project. I think it looks better.  It will look even better with all my fall decorations that I will be adding this weekend. My personal tradition every Labor Day is to decorate for fall. So up in the attic we go.

Tomorrow is hump day, and the week is alomost over. Then a long weekend. Thank goodness.

Obsession

This mixer is my new obsession!!!

< The Pioneer Woman Edition KitchenAid Mixer>

I saw it last night on the Pioneer Woman blog. I instantly fell in love. She was giving away two of them and of course I entered to win it. Along with 50,000 other people I waited until this morning to see if I won it. As you can tell I did not.

I spent part of my day today looking on line to see if I could find a website that sold it. I even tried to e-mail the Pioneer Woman but could not get the e-mail to go through for some reason. Then I had a light bulb moment....Lets just say bells went off.

I looked on The Food Network website. If you dont know yet... Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman) has a new show on Food Network. I pulled up her show and looked at some pictures of the ranch house. I saw a bit of the mixer on her counter top. So I e-mailed Food Network and am waiting their response.

Patiently Waiting Their Response!!!

Isn't it pretty. It would look soooo good in my kitchen.

P.S. If anyone out there know where I can get one of these, please share the info. I would greatly appreciate it.

Love,

Pam

Little Cowboy

I know it has been awhile, really a long time, since I have posted on the blog. I am really behind so so sorry.

I promise I will try and do better.

I just had to share my Little Cowboy with everyone.

July 4th we went to my parents home in Oklahoma. The town that my parents live in have their homecoming every year durnning the 4th. We entered Carter Joe in the homecoming parade.

This is our outfit for the parade. Can you say, " too stinkin' cute."
Boys waiting to leave for the parade.

Poppa and Carter Joe riding to Big Dad and Granny's house.

I was so proud but a ball of nerves in one big bundle. Knots in my stomach and all.

Heading down to get ready for the parade.

Such a big boy. Riding in the parade on his own horse.

Waving to the crowd.

After the parade was over we where a little hot, to say the least.

We guzzled and guzzled the water. Bless his heart. He said that he looked like Woody. Later that night after putting on his PJs he said that he was not Woody anymore.

Needless to say we all had a great 4th of July. So proud and of men and women who have fought for our freedom. Also proud of my little man. Also he won Best Dressed Jr. Cowboy and won a belt buckle.

Memorial Day

Just wanted to say thank you to all of our military men and women. You all have sacrificed your lives so that we can have lazy days at home or fun at the lake. You have given your time, and time with your families. So that we can have cookouts and visit with friends on warm summer days. Thank you all.

My dear friend Kritsi just married a man in the Navy. He is about to get deployed to who knows where. For who knows how long. Before now, I looked at Memorial Day as a day off work. A shortened work week. A time to spend with good friends. Now my friend is in California starting her new life. With her new husband who is one of these military men.

I do admire her. For taking a chance. For believing in love and new beginnings. For the adventure she is about to start.

I can imagine sending my husband off to war. For no telling how long. Not knowing where to. So I dedicate this post to James and all the military men and women. Happy Memorial Day to all. God speed to him and have a safe return home.

My Friend Misty

Meet my friend Misty. She the one in the dark pink. Why is she wearing pink you ask? Well, she has breast cancer. She is so young you say. Yes she is. She is only 27. She is a wife, she has a 18 month old daughter, she has had radiation, and is on her second round of chemo. Wow, that is a lot to take in.

She is also a co-worker.

The lady next to her is Elisha Preston. She is another co-worker/boss, and the one who organized our golf tournament. Her husband Andy (the man in the white shirt) helped to organize also. He has played in lots of charity golf tourneys. So he knows what should happen. He advised us on things from, welcome bags, to door prizes, and just helping all of us limp through.

A lot of work for novice golf tournament organizers. Guess what, we pulled it off. We kept calling each other on Friday to make sure everything was taken care of. As Friday started to draw to a close we realized that it is really going to come together. We might just pull this thing off. Early Saturday May 22, 2010 a group of co-workers, friends, and family got together to raise money for Misty.

Let the sign up begin........

Altogether we had 13 teams sign up...

These guys where sponsored by the company that my husband works for..PDQ Mobile X-Ray.

The guys where great. They came up with the idea for the bright pink shirts themselves. With a little help from some of the wives.

People could sign up to sponsor a team or they could be a hole sponsor. We had several guys sign up and form there own teams. We also had a couple of women sign up to play. My sweet father-in-law and mother-in-law volunteered to be a hole sponsor. Of course they let me pick the hole. Of course, I choose to put them on hole #1!!

Here is Misty and her sweet baby girl Baylee. Isn't she a cutie pie.

She is so cute. Her little shirt said,"help save my ta ta's." To to cute.

Even some of our Doctors came out to play. Bless there hearts, one of the golf carts broke down. One of them and his son had to walk back to the club house. Hauling those heavy golf bags.

Thanks guys for coming out and supporting Misty.

We cooked hamburgers for the players and workers. That sweet man in the pink shirt is my husband Les. He was so kind to help with this. He cooked over 60 hamburger patties. They where GOOOOOD. He didn't even mind all the smoke he inhaled during the cooking process.

Thanks honey, I really appreciate it.

Over all the day was a great success. Everyone worked hard. They pulled together for a friend and a wonderful cause.

It is amazing how people will come out to support and help someone who they do not even know. I stand amazed at the kindness.

We don't have a grand total yet. We are hoping to raise between 4,500 and 5,000 dollars.
We all had a blast. I am so excited to be able to share this with all of my family and friends.
